I just viewed a product demo of NetSuite for free, namely the demo for the Lead to Cash system. My first reaction upon viewing it was “Wow. Now that is a lot of data.”

Yes, NetSuite is supposed to make the lead to sales process more tangible for sales reps and the other staff at their company. But one wonders if the sheer amount of data put in this system might be a hindrance rather than a help to salespeople who are already worried about meeting their quota? There are a lot of fields to fill in and one might surmise that there are salespeople who are too busy to bother inputting all that data manually.

I would like to see more of the NetSuite product demos to be able to offer a critique that is unbiased and uncolored by my own biases. Despite my misgivings, I can see the value of the NetSuite system in that it offers a way to look at various sales and marketing metrics at one glance – if you know where the data is located first though. If you don’t pay close attention, you might overlook certain fields that are important to fill out to get an accurate picture of your sales or your sales team’s performance.

It would also be nice to be able to see a sync between NetSuite and other CRM apps just to observe the real value of a sync in this case. So that’s what I have to work on for the next couple of days with Cazoomi Asia. Meanwhile, I can appreciate the science behind the NetSuite system because there really is a need to stay that organized in any sales-oriented job.
