Welcome to the fourth article of our Insider series: Meet the Team. Today, we’re getting to know Angela Hernandez, our media expert. She’s been with SyncApps by Cazoomi for a year now, and she’s already left her mark in the company. But we’ll let her tell you more about that.
Q: Hey, Angela! Please introduce yourself.
A: I’m Angela, and I’m part of the media team. You’ll be seeing me most of the time in our videos. I usually host our series with subscribers and consultants or our marketing videos. I started at SyncApps by Cazoomi last year and since then, I have been enjoying creating video content for our subscribers.
Q: How has work changed for you since the pandemic started?
A: I guess I’ve felt the effects of the pandemic just like everyone else has, especially when it comes to my daily routine. In the pre-covid era, we were able to meet as a team anywhere we wanted. But with the pandemic that is harder to do. I miss our face-to-face meetings and team buildings.
However, I’m thankful that we can work remotely and that we can still communicate daily in a safe and even more efficient way. Isn’t technology amazing?
Q: Do you feel like working from home even more than before has negatively impacted your work-life balance?
A: I don’t think so. The beauty of working from home is that we save hundreds of hours that usually go into preparing for and commuting to work. Now I can put those hours towards spending quality time with my family. Since my “office” is literally a few steps from my bed, I save a lot of time. And that time counts a lot towards my work-life balance.
Q: What do you do for fun?
A: I am a family-oriented person and I enjoy spending time with my family. I also enjoy playing with my dog, curling in bed with a good book, or watching a great movie.
I am also very interested in career education, so I speak at a lot of public events about nurturing the minds of the youth towards success in their career.
Since I strongly believe that success is highly dependent upon early education (and by education I mean more than what we are usually taught in school), this is my greatest passion. I just love seeing how young minds open up to new perspectives and how their eyes light up when they hear what great things can await them if they start working towards their goals early.
Q: What advice would you give aspiring professionals?
A: It’s great to explore things on your own. But the truth is that you will be needing help too. Find a great mentor who will support you in each stage of your career. Don’t be afraid to go outside your comfort zone, it is where you will grow and learn the most.
Q: Do you have any tips to help our readers overcome the crisis while working remotely?
A: Even if we feel safe working remotely and even if the vaccine rollout brings out new hope, never let your guard down and always be vigilant. The pandemic is not over yet. I’m not a public health expert, so what I can advise you on is how to make your work life better. For me, embracing new technologies has helped a lot in maintaining a close relationship with my colleagues and my family.
And I’m thrilled that my work at SyncApps helps people from all over the world get more satisfaction out of their daily tasks. The last thing we need right now is more menial tasks. Our solutions help take that off your plate so our subscribers can focus on work they truly enjoy!
Furthermore, to counter the toll the pandemic is taking on us, it’s important to remember that you still need fresh air. So go out as much as possible — always respecting the measures in place in your country or state. And do take this chance to spend quality time with your family.
