Commitment to Privacy and the General Data Protection Regulation

After years of preparation, finally, GDPR has arrived. The new EU General Data Protection Regulation is the most salient European privacy legislation and it replaces the EU Data Protection Directive 95/46/EC. The GDPR aims to protect all the EU citizens from privacy data breaches. It was designed to make a harmonious data privacy laws across Europe and to empower all EU citizens’ privacy rights over the use of their personal data.

As a data processor, Cazoomi will comply with all the GDPR requirements before the enforcement that was set in May 2018. Working with data privacy experts, we will implement new compliance progression within our service offerings to have high responsibility for customers’ personal data protection. Customers will have full control over how their data will be collected, stored, and transferred.

With our core trust principles, Cazoomi will continue to make changes in our product to seamlessly adapt to the new legislative obligations and keep our customers, partners, and regulatory authorities keep enlightened on our approach throughout the process. Cazoomi hired a Data Protection officer to work with our compliance to constantly counsel and keep track of the GDPR regulation.

Who is affected by the GDPR?

Data Subjects: The GDPR is focused on strengthening and maximizing the protection of individual rights of European citizens who have submitted their personal data to any organization for business transactions. Data Subject’s rights include transparency of information and modalities, right of access, right of erasure, right to restriction and rectification, right to portability, and right to object.

Data Controllers: Controller means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency, or any other body that cooperatively regulate the purpose and means of processing the personal data. Cazoomi customers are the Data Controllers. They have the authority determine the personal information to be collected, how it is collected, why personal data is to be processed, and has the overall responsibility of the data. This includes determining the use, storage, and deletion of data.

Data Processors: Processor means the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or any other body which processes personal data on behalf of the data controller as directed by the data controller. Cazoomi is your Data Processor. Our platform handles and processes the collected data which you control.
