Our story

A few things about Cazoomi

Before SyncApps® was software, it was a recurring question from businesses trying to make their systems work in harmony.

People often ask how Cazoomi got started.

The truth is, it didn't begin with software.

It began in board rooms during the financial crisis of 2008.

Back then we were a small team of NetSuite, Salesforce and RSA consultants in the San Francisco Bay Area, helping businesses implement enterprise software while trying to survive one of the toughest economic periods in recent history. During the day we worked with customers in California. At night our teams in India and the Philippines kept projects moving while the rest of us slept.

Somewhere along the way we noticed something.

Every customer looked different.
Different industry. Different software. Different size.
Yet the questions were almost always the same.
“How do we get these systems to talk to each other?”

The technology changed. The problem didn't.

Looking back, that's where Cazoomi really began.

We didn't set out to build a software company

In those early years we spent a great deal of time implementing enterprise software and building integrations on the SnapLogic platform.

After enough customer projects something became obvious.

We weren't solving hundreds of different problems. We were solving the same handful of problems over and over again.

Different customer. Different implementation. Same patterns.

Eventually we asked ourselves a simple question.

What if software could remember what we'd already learned?

That question became SyncApps®.

Rather than rebuilding the same integrations for every customer, we started capturing what worked and turning that knowledge into software.

SyncApps officially launched in March 2011. The rest happened much more gradually than people usually imagine.

Independence was our competitive advantage

Unlike many software companies, we never raised venture capital.

We started with about $250,000, remained privately held, stayed debt free, and have been profitable ever since.

Looking back, that independence shaped almost every decision we made. We never had investors asking us to maximize growth. Instead, we focused on building software customers genuinely enjoyed using and supporting them long after the sale.

Today our platform runs on Rackspace infrastructure with a 99.99% historical uptime, backed by the practices outlined on our Security page.

Why the name Cazoomi?

People occasionally ask where the name came from.

The inspiration came from the Japanese word 和美 (Kazumi), often interpreted as beautiful harmony.

My daughter and I spent a weekend tossing around ideas before finally landing on Cazoomi.

Looking back, it turned out to describe exactly what we were trying to build—not just software, but harmony between applications that were never designed to work together.

One belief has never changed

Technology has changed dramatically since 2009. Cloud software became mainstream. APIs matured. Artificial intelligence arrived.

One thing hasn't changed.

Your data belongs to you.

Whether you use SyncApps for a year or for the next decade, you should always be able to move your information wherever your business needs it next. We believe software should remove friction, not create it.
