Walkthrough Wednesdays Series: Custom Field Mapping

Custom Field Mapping

SyncApps syncs basic default pre-mapped fields such as First Name, Last Name, Email Address, Company Name, Phone, and Address.

Custom field mapping allows you to sync custom fields over from your Salesforce to your Constant Contact. This will map a custom field(s) in Salesforce via SyncApps over to Constant Contact(s) field. Mapping custom fields from Saleforce to Constant Contact can allow you to segment your data in Constant Contact acccording to how your organization markets to your target market.

When we’re talking about custom fields in Constant Contact these can be quite powerful in segmenting your lists for say which industry your major clients come from or which areas of the country the best prospects are from, and the list of use cases goes on. Key thing to note is Constant Contact Custom Fields can allow your marketing team to build highly targeted lists of current or future clients who can drive your business forward and create raving fans of your products when reached with the right messaging.

Custom Fields in Constant Contact

Constant Contact allows up to 100 custom fields to be created per acccount. However, for integration purposes, only 15 pre-labeled fields are only exposed in Constant Contact’s API v2.

Due to Constant Contact’s API restrictions, only 15 custom fields are allowed for any integration and any extra fields beyond that are only to be supported in API. SyncApps will support Constant Contact’s API v3 in 2019 once on the fly custom field mapping and Campaigns are added to the API v3.
