Taking Marketing Personalization to the Next Level: Dynamics 365 to Mailchimp Integration Done Right

If you’re a regular on the SyncApps by Cazoomi, then you already know that our subscribers are our greatest inspiration. We don’t mean to be cheesy but our best features come from use cases discussed through our customer support.

This is how we’re constantly able to add truly useful features and capabilities to our service. We talk to our subscribers and we learn as much as we can about how they use SyncApps by Cazoomi.

Why?

Because the users always know best.

Throughout the years, we have learned that the needs of NGOs are different from those of eCommerce companies. And that governmental institutions and travel agencies need different kinds of support.

Creating an all-encompassing integration solution, with thousands of features is not exactly a walk in the park. But do you know what’s harder than that?

Creating an integration solution that’s not bulky because it only has the right features and options. This means that it’s easy to use and navigate. Plus, there’s no steep learning curve.

In a way, it’s like creating the perfect burger. You wouldn’t add all the spices in your cabinet just because you’ve already got that and…why not?

Instead, you want to strike a perfect balance between the various tastes.

When you can achieve that, you’ve got the perfect burger. Just like when you find the right balance in features for an integration solution, you win the hearts of your customers.

Before we get too hungry from the burger analogy, let’s dive into a great Dynamics 365 plus Mailchimp use case.

One of our free subscribers wrote to us to ask about the Mailchimp Group & Segment sync — how do they look like in the CRM and how can they create or tag something in Dynamics 365 and send it to Mailchimp — tag and all.

They also needed to know if the contacts that are removed from the CRM Marketing Lists can be automatically removed or untagged from Mailchimp and vice versa.

Why do they need this?

Our client is an NGO that wants to target its CRM users with the right newsletters based on their interests. If you’ve read our whitepaper on smart marketing tactics for NGOs, then you already know that segmentation is the core of successful fundraising campaigns across industries.

And, of course, our Dynamics 365 to Mailchimp integration delivered on all our subscriber’s needs and more.

By the way, did you know that you can use this integration 100% FREE? Start here!

Here’s how their setup looks like (in case you need the inspiration):

Dynamics 365 to Mailchimp Sync Profile Setup

Based on their integration requirements, they are using the Marketing List feature to segment the selected Marketing Lists into different Groups in Mailchimp under the specified Mailchimp Group title to use in Step 2 of the Sync Profile.

They are also using the Update Profile form when subscribers update their Profile in Mailchimp and Update Profile Form when Admin update their Profiles in Mailchimp so that whenever the fields are updated in Mailchimp, it will automatically reflect back in those CRM records in real-time via Webhook even without the sync is initiated.

Lastly, they used the Full Sync Add-On feature to remove the records from the matching list(s) – Group(s) in Mailchimp once they are removed from CRM.

Features used:

Step 1: CRM

Marketing List sync mode ( Specific Marketing Lists) – to segment each Marketing Lists into different Mailchimp Groups.

Step 2: Mailchimp

Segmentation Method: Use Groups

Group title to use

Update Profile form when Subscribers/Admin update their Profile in Mailchimp.

Step 3: Add-On

Full Sync

Step 4: Field Mapping

Step 5: Filtering and Segmentation ( For Full Sync to take effect)

Yes, it’s that simple. The entire setup takes minutes. And you can always switch back and forth between tags and groups.

In other words: whenever you make a change in either your CRM or your ESP, it will be reflected in the other instantly. Bi-directional integration means less work for you and more time to strategize.

And we could all use less menial work, right?

Finally, this is just one use case of this integration. We are big fans of customizable solutions so ours is easy to turn exactly into what you need. Learn more about the SyncApps by Cazoomi Dynamics 365 to Mailchimp integration and how you can leverage it in your business starting today for FREE.
