Health and Wellness Runs On SyncApps

What did the pandemic mean for the health and wellness industry? Take it from someone who works with players of all sizes in this industry: it was murder.

We had lockdowns, then re-openings (but people were still advised to only leave the house if absolutely necessary), then lockdowns again, and so on. This happened all over the world.

Since a piece of bad news rarely travels alone, the health and wellness industry was faced with a new issue, even after they were allowed to re-open: people became accustomed to exercising at home or near their homes. Most even said they’d never go back to the gym, even if it’s completely safe since they found out they could do it on their own or with remote guidance from an instructor.

In a recent Statista survey, 68% of respondents stated that they were “much less likely” to go to a gym.

Fun times, right?

But it’s not all bad. In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic also brought some opportunities that gyms and studios that were quick to pivot benefited from.

Opportunities and Challenges for Health and Fitness Companies in the Midst of the Pandemic

More than half of the respondents questioned in a Statista survey in April 2020 said that they exercised about as much as before the lockdown. 17% even said that they exercised more than usual.

In fact, the health and wellness industry is expected to have a quick rebound in 2021, when most people will care more about their physical and mental health. Told you there is some good news, too!

And there’s more!

According to Mindbody, some health and wellness companies prospered even during the harshest of lockdowns. “Mindbody data showed a huge jump in consumers accessing virtual content since March of 2020. 73% of consumers are using pre-recorded video versus 17% in 2019; 85% are using live stream classes weekly versus 7% in 2019.”

Bottom line: people still want to exercise. People still do it and they will continue to do it.
What’s the catch? What are the challenges?

The most significant of them is meeting customers’ new expectations. Moving your operations online AND tracking the success of online classes is no easy feat. Operating in a hybrid environment, with both online and in-person classes is even more complicated.

But this is what the market demands of gyms and yoga studios. And this demand is not going away soon.

The first requirement for surviving in the “new normal” is having solutions that can communicate with each other seamlessly. You need to be able to see which of your campaigns and business lines (offline and online) bring the most revenue. You need to be on top of customers’ demands and adapt quickly.

This is what our subscribers have been doing since the beginning of the pandemic.

Filter and sync only those records that meet specific criteria from CRM or vice-versa

  • Bring back only records with opens or clicks activity to allow lead nurturing in CRM as well as what they clicked on in your drip marketing campaigns.
